Artist Matt Collins is a self taught artist living and creating in London, Ontario. Born and raised in London, Matt’s appreciation for his surroundings is what sparked his interest in art. Spending his summers at his family’s cottage in Ipperwash exposed Matt to the natural beauty that surrounds lake Huron.
Growing up in a family in which two anniversaries are celebrated on Canada Day, it is no surprise that Matt’s first painting, executed at the ripe age of three, is of the Canadian flag!
Since then Matt has drawn and painted several
Canadian landscapes; including Lake Huron sunsets
and family enjoying the beach at Ipperwash. Six of these of
paintings have been exhibited at the Paint Ontario Exhibition
in previous years.
Matt primarily works in acrylic on canvas when painting and pencil and charcoal when drawing portraits.
